Privacy policy

Dhamkee ("we", "us") runs dhamkee.com. This policy explains what personal data we collect, why, and what you can do about it. We follow India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and the Information Technology Act, 2000. Our store runs on Shopify, which processes data on our behalf.

What we collect

  • Order details: name, delivery address, phone number, email, what you bought, and payment status. Card/UPI details are handled by our payment providers (e.g. Razorpay, Shopify Payments) — we never see or store full card numbers.
  • Account & marketing: your email/phone if you sign up for drop alerts or create an account.
  • Device & usage data: IP address, browser, pages viewed, and cookies — used for security, analytics and to make the site work (cart, login).
  • Support conversations: emails, WhatsApp messages and photos you send us about an order.

Why we use it

  • To pack, ship and support your order (this includes sharing your name, address and phone with our fulfilment partner and the courier — they need it to deliver).
  • To send order updates by email/SMS/WhatsApp.
  • To send drop alerts and offers only if you opted in. Every message has an unsubscribe link; or just reply STOP.
  • To prevent fraud and keep the site secure.
  • To understand what's working (analytics, aggregated).

Who we share it with

Only the services needed to run the store: Shopify (platform and hosting), our fulfilment partner, courier partners, payment providers, email/SMS tools and analytics (e.g. Google, Meta) for ads measurement. We don't sell your data. Ever.

Cookies

We use essential cookies (cart, checkout, login) and, with your consent where required, analytics and advertising cookies. You can block cookies in your browser; the cart may stop working if you block the essential ones.

How long we keep it

Order records are kept for as long as Indian tax and accounting law requires (currently 8 years). Marketing data is kept until you unsubscribe. Support conversations are deleted after 2 years.

Your rights

You can ask us to show you, correct, or delete the personal data we hold about you, withdraw consent for marketing, or nominate someone to exercise these rights for you. Email talk@dhamkee.com with the subject "Privacy request" — we respond within 30 days. If you're not happy with our response you can complain to the Data Protection Board of India.

Kids

Our store is for adults. We don't knowingly collect data from anyone under 18.

Changes

If we change this policy in a way that matters, we'll update the date above and tell you on the site.
